Here we have a 1967 Land rover series 2A. This one is not going to be powered by a v8, despite trying to convince him. You can clearly see step by step the process involved in restoring any car. We have stripped the Land Rover down and started with a brand new galvanised chassis.
This is what we started with. A beaten up old Land Rover.
The engine was unsurprisingly not looking too well. so we will strip it and see what we find.
The engine was full of old thick sludge. It was so thick the oil wouldn't drain!
looking much better! all new bearings gaskets and a fresh set of piston rings.
The gear box got some attention as well. here its been cleaned and reassembled with fresh bearings and gaskets.
All blasted and powder coated, the axles really do look smart. The diffs have been rebuilt as well.
The new bulked and the tub are getting test fitted onto the new chassis before being prepped for paint.
And there you have it, all the parts previously seen installed on the chassis. Soon it will be time to get the engine fired up for the first time!
